Saturday November 17th 2018:

Philadelphia, PA 19107. Admission by donation.

 

Connecting Through American Chamber Music with cellist Eve Miller. Program includes the world premiere of Whitman’s Three Pieces for unaccompanied cello as well as works by Philip Glass, Alan Hovhaness, Florence Price, Mark Rimple, William Grant Still, and Samuel Barber,

3:00 PM: Lang Concert Hall, Swarthmore College.

Winter Concert of Gamelan Semara Santi with the Indonesian Cultural Club of Delaware

Traditional and Modern Music and Dance from Bali, Indonesia. Co-directed by Lidya Darmawan, Ni Luh Kadek Kusuma Dewi, I Nyoman Suadin, and Thomas Whitman.

Admission: free; families with children especially welcome

Balinese Gamelan informal performance and lecture/demonstration with Whitman and members of Gamelan Semara Santi.

Network for New Music’s “Mavericks of Minimalism” concert will include a new work by Evan Ziporyn for string quartet and members of Gamelan Semara Santi, directed by Whitman.  The program will also include works by Gerald Levinson, John Adams, Terry Riley, and Hannah Lash.

Tuesday April 9th 2019:

7:30 PM: Roberts Hall, Haverford College
